There were four types of presentations at MDRS 2016:
1. Symposium – same rules as always: timely topic of broad interest to the membership; 3-5 speakers; gender balance; lots of time for discussion; no more than 1 non-member; ideally will include disorders and/or non-human work
2. Open paper – longer talk; generally for members who haven’t given one recently
3. Data blitz – shorter talk
4. One finding – shortest talk; literally one finding (just the finding)
